Project Brief:

This secluded courtyard is meters from traffic yet miles away.

Tucked, as it is, amongst Islington's City Road terraces.

Courtyards are often semi shaded places and this was no exception. With some lovely brickwork already in existence, we took out the plants that were not thriving and added a range of perennials and evergreens that suited semi-shady conditions. Colour was focused in areas receiving a good amount of sunlight. All existing containers were saved and reintegrated to a new scheme - reworking the composition. Climbing evergreen star jasmine cloths the tall rear wall with fragrance and foliage.
