PROCESS

Gardens are very personal spaces and every client is different. When I am in your garden I am in your home. My approach is to listen to you, observe the space, and work with you to develop plans for a garden that responds to your needs, gives you joy, and is mindful of environmental sustainability.

Design: The design process is split in to four parts.
  • Site Survey and Analysis - a survey may be outsourced specialist contractor if the site is large or complex
  • Sketch Plan - laying out an initial plan based on consultation discussions and site analysis
  • Master Plan - consolidation of the design, rendered and fully specified
  • Planting Plan - the 'soft furnishings'. Includes all plant and bulb names, planting positions, sizes and quantities
Pre Build: All technical aspects of the design are finalised and a landscaper and associated other contractors are appointed. The design team will cost all specified plants and trees and offer a quote for supply and planting. These quotes together equate to the finalised build budget.

Hard Landscaping: The Principle Contractor delivers the build with input from specialist contractors when required. If agreed by the client the designer may oversee the process, liaising with the principle contractor throughout, to ensure the build is progressing as per the design specification.
Soft Landscaping: After build is complete, including planting of larger trees and lawn, soft landscaping may commence. This is when the design team may return to plant your garden, or planting will be carried out by the Principle Contractor.
Aftercare: If desired, we recommend gardening aftercare services from trusted local gardeners, plus an annual planting review service to touch in with how the scheme is progressing. Please see our Aftercare page for more details.
